Dear Mariposa Friends,
January sure was fun!
We had an amazing Family Potluck and a super fun Spirit Week as you will see below. We also took advantage of the dry weather with lots of outdoor activities. Check out the action below!
In other January news, we remodeled our Quiet Time so that we keep the backroom reserved for those that really need to get their homework done in an extra quiet space. If you would like to request that we place your child in this "homework club," please let us know. Several students have already volunteered themselves to take part and they seem to appreciate the calmer atmosphere.
In February we are hosting a Read-a-thon with the hopes of reaching 1,000 hours of reading! It will be a challenge, but with your help, I know we can do it! Please ask about our upcoming holiday full-day programs and how to sign-up for Spring Break. We are also planning to get some Saturday morning classes up and running in the Spring too.

Here students wait their turn to kick with Aaron. |
A break during soccer. They are sitting on the goal. |
A little workout is always good! |
Art with nature to attract fairies of course. |
We offer skateboarding everyday and we added a few new ramps to hopefully encourage more participation. Let us know if you or family friends would be interested in Saturday Morning Skateboard Lesson please. |
Tuesday's dance and movement is always a good time! |
We only go to Precita on Thursdays. Here is the, "Can I make you Laugh Challenge." |
Dumplings with Danny! They were so good we had to make them twice last month! Ask your kids for the recipe. |
And the Family Potluck! As you can see it was well attended and everyone had a great time. Thank you very much for coming and sharing food and time with us. |
Spirit Week was an idea from our Suggestion Box that the students brought to life in January. We were really impressed with the buzz that it created and it was a ton of fun too. We had crazy hair day, pajama day, monster day, switch gender day and weird day. Switch gender day was very interesting and a great opportunity for us to remind Mariposa Students that they can be who they are and dress however they feel comfortable any day. |
Date night was great and we had a solid turn out in January. Our next one will be on the last Friday of February and we will continue the Literacy Theme by hosting a "Wild Rumpus" of our own. Sign-up soon! |
